Happy Halloween Part 2

About a week ago, the Sheers hosted their Annual Pumpkin Carving Party. We had never used one of those pumpkin carving kits before, so I was a little intimidated. (Uh, whatever happened to two triangles for the eyes, one for the nose, and a jagged tooth smile???) I was going to go for an easy pattern, but decided to go all out with a 3 out of 4 pumpkin difficulty. I felt like I had to step it up because the host of the party had created her own elaborate design. I was ready - I had my pumpkin, my design, and a lil boy to help. (Mark did attend but hates getting his hands dirty with pumpkin goo. He spent his time encouraging me, watching Jackson, and eating cupcakes.) The design was a window filled with a cat, pumpkin, and a spider. All was going well and then . . . . Jackson kept poking his "carving knife" in and out of the poor cat's eyes, and I totally messed up the spider. We all had a blast, and the pumpkin didn't turn out all that bad. The final pumpkin does have a spider, thanks to Mr. Norman's hard work and a toothpick!

Jackson hard at work on thoses eyes.

The final pumkin - Thanks again Norman for that spider!

From left to right: The Passaro's bat, the Derek's ghost, the Johnson's scary window, the Sheers' cat on a fence with pumpkins underneath, Jackson's crayon pumpkin, and Baby Maya's pumkin. Not too bad, huh?

On Halloween we attended a fall festival with some other friends. Jackson loved seeing friends, and so did mom and dad! The festival had different booths that you could play and "win" candy. Here are a few pictures of all the spooky fun.

Jackson is having fun putting. He is trying to get the ball through a tiny hole, and he did it on the second try. Just like his daddy!

Now he is trying his hand at fishing. He is being very patient, and it eventually paid off.

Daddy, can I please have this snicker bar?

The whole gang stopping for a quick hot dog.

After eating, playing the games, and licking chocolate bars, all the kids were wound up and running around. Here is the evidence:

I hope everyone had a great Halloween. Now it is time to gear up for Thanksgiving!!
