Cheers Grandpa

My grandfather unexpectedly passed away in the month of December. The boys and I headed to Missouri for a week to celebrate his life along with the rest of the Morehouse family. It was a week filled with tears, laughter, sadness, and joy. I have so many great memories of my grandparents, and it was fun to take a stroll down memory lane while I was there. My grandparents have left an amazing legacy, and I hope and pray that it continues on!


I love you grandma and grandpa, and I will see you again!

Down South

During Jackson's Spring Break we decided to head to Mississippi. Mark hadn't been home in over a year, and it was time to introduce Braden to his uncles, aunts, and cousins. He even got to meet his great grandfather, great aunt, and second cousins.

Four generations of Morehouses


Uncle Ryan and Zoe love Baby Braden. Zoe is still asking for baby when she goes to Dee Dee's house.


It was a fun filled week. We went to lunch, the MS Children's Museum (an entire post coming), Chuck E. Cheese, and a picnic.


Jackson also got to golfing with Daddy and Poppy at the Country Club of Jackson - where Mark basically grew up! I am not sure who was more excited, Jackson or Mark.



Poppy also took Jackson fishing for his very first time! He waited patiently for the fishing to start biting.


And before long, he had caught several catfishes.


Emmy took all the cousins to the Natural Science Museum where there was a butterfly exhibit. Despite the look on his face he loved flying like a butterfly.


It was a great trip spent with family and friends. We both had a chance to relax a little, meet up with friends, and we even had a date night.

Cherry Blossoms

The Kite Festival was the kickoff weekend of the Cherry Blossom Festival. The day of the kite festival, the cherry blossoms weren't quite ready to bloom. However, one week later and they were beautiful. Emmy and Poppy timed there visit perfectly to see the amazing view around the Tidal Basin.

Jackson played some soccer which I am sure the many people who were relaxing on a blanket loved.


Instead of fighting the huge crowds at the nearby metro stations, we decided to walk down by the Lincoln Memorial and across the Memorial Bridge to the Arlington Cemetery metro. Jackson was getting a little tired by this time but nothing some snacks and juice couldn't cure!


We even stopped on the Memorial Bridge for some quick pictures.



The airplanes were landing from the north at Reagan airport and Jackson loved watching them.


He was still watching as we were walking away.


We met some friends down there last Friday, and the cherry blossoms are already gone. I am glad we got to enjoy them while we had the chance.

Introducing . . . .

my niece Zoe Miller Hall. My brother and his wife now have a beautiful little girl. Baby Zoe was born September 20 at 8:01 am - central time :) She weighs 7 pounds 8 ounces and has a head full of black hair. She is the cutest little thing, and I can't wait to get my hands on her. Jackson and I are coming down in October, so she better not grow too much! Jackson is just so worried about her. He keeps asking, "Why Baby Zoe in the hospital? What's wrong with her? She okay?"
