Go Nats!

Labor Day weekend, we decided to take Jackson to his first pro baseball game to cheer on the Nats. We purchased last minute tickets, and the seats were pretty good. As soon as we got there, we grabbed some lunch for about $134.oo. Where else would you pay over $9 for some greasy nachos but love every last chip?!?! Anyway, after pointing out where all the action was happening, Jackson loved watching and cheering on his Nats!


Jackson and daddy went to the bathroom and ended up with a foam finger,


a Nats bat,


and a Nats baseball that somehow didn't make any of the pictures. Seriously, we can only afford to go to about one baseball game a year!

The park also has a play zone for the kiddos to enjoy. Jackson loved climbing, sliding, and crawling all around. It was a nice break to let him run around before watching the rest of the game.


The Nats even came back and won it after being down 3 runs! I guess Jackson brought them a little good luck!

It's a . . .

BOY!!!

We are so excited that we will have another little guy running around the Johnson house. However, I am now officially outnumbered . . . oh my!

We had our long awaited "big sonogram" on Friday afternoon. Baby boy is perfect and healthy, and there is absolutely no doubt that he is a he. Little boy was just as mellow and laid back as can be. Let's hope he continues that trend once he makes his entrance into this world.

Jackson is also excited that he will have a little brother to pass down all his trouble making tips to. He has picked out the name Jack Park which is a whole lot better than his girl name - Trixie!!

We love Ms. Barbara

Jackson started private swim lessons two weeks ago, and he is doing great. We were nervous that he wouldn't even get in the water with mom and dad sitting on the side, but Ms. Barbara won him over and in he went. We decided that he finally needed private lesson, because the group classes just weren't cutting it. Our goal is to keep the lessons going throughout fall and spring and when next summer rolls around he will be swimming. Right now we are still working on getting our nose under the water, so fingers crossed that our plan works!


Jackson finally jumped into the fun noodle and Ms. Barbara after telling her that he never jumps into the water. Ummmm really Jackson, because all summer long you jumped to me and got me soaking wet?!?!


He loves to practice his kicking in the pool and the bath tub.


After his lesson we head to the locker rooms to take a shower. He loves helping clean himself with the hand-help water faucet. It is one of the highlights of swim lessons. Since it is nearing bed time by the time we get home, he just puts his pajamas after his shower. However, that certainly doesn't stop him from running around on the way to the car.


Hopefully Ms. Barbara can get this little man swimming, so I don't have to hold two kiddos in the pool next summer!

Back to Preschool

Jackson completed his first week back at preschool! He is now in the Block Room with several of his Pretend Room friends from last year. He was so excited to be back at school and will now be going four days a week.


Okay, Mom . . . Let's get inside so we can play!!


We visited his room last week and met his sweet teachers Mrs. Kathy and Mrs. Julie. We only stayed for thirty minutes, but he kept talking about how he wanted to play with the wooden signs first thing on Tuesday morning. As soon as he got there, he went straight for that box. When I left he had recruited a friend to help him design a small town.


When he gets home each day he is exhausted and has been hitting the sack at 6:30! So I know they are busy busy all day. However, it is like pulling teeth some days to find out what they did that day at school. But I did manage to get these highlights out of him:

- His buddy Ryan and him ran two races, and he won one of them.
- In the Block room you get to stand on a chair to hang monkeys from a piece of ribbon. He worked until he had monkeys touching the floor.
- His favorite song of the week was "Zip A Dee Doo Dah."
- He had crackers and water for a snack. He passed on the bananas - surprise surprise!
- He is now Jackson the Jigsaw puzzle.
- He talked to Missi and Lois (his teacher from last year) and told them about the big storm we had at our house.
- On our way to the car on Friday, he invited two of his friends over to his house for a playdate - my little social butterfly!

We are excited about a fun year ahead of us.

It's a Bird, No A Plane

Can you tell that Jackson loves to fly and hang out in airports? He is constantly flying his airplanes to Mississippi, California, and Nafrica. I am hoping that one day he will be able to fly all of us to fun and exciting places!

The County Fair

During our farm week this summer we took the kiddos to Frying Pan Farm Park. And to our surprise they were having a small county fair. As soon as we turned the corner and Jackson saw the rides he said, "Mom this is going to be so much fun!"

Before the rides, we had to play on the tractors and check out all the farm animals.


Then it was time to hit the rides. First up the train!


Finding the perfect horse on the carousel took some time, but Jackson finally picked the red, white and blue one.


The monster truck ride was a hit, and Jackson had to ride it twice.


And it wouldn't be a county fair if you didn't ride the big slide. Since I couldn't ride it with Jackson due to being preggers, my friend Sunny took her daughter and Jackson down at the same time. I don't know who laughed more - Sunny and the kids or me!!



It was definitely a hot summer day, but we all managed to have a great time!

Jackson Wanted to Tell Everyone . . .

That he is going to be a big brother on January 30!!

The Farm

This summer we decided to explore and visit some new places in the surrounding area. Our first outing was at a farm out past Leesburg - and for the life of me I can't remember the farm's exact name. Anyway it was so much fun, and we can't wait to go back. There were animals, play grounds, tractor rides, fruit picking, and even putt putt golf.

The highlight of the trip was riding a tractor out to pick peaches. Jackson was a peach picking pro. Once he started he didn't want to stop.


After finally realizing that we didn't want the ones on the ground, he loved the challenge of picking the ones high up in the tree.


By the time we got back on the tractor, he had a bag full of peaches. We kept talking about all the things we could make, and then mommy left them on the stove while cooking something in the oven. Oops - that was the last of those peaches. At least we did get to eat one!

After the peach adventure we visited the animals,


played on a tractor wheel,


and even climbed on a wooden tractor.


Of course we had to play putt putt but I didn't get any pictures of that action. We also had a picnic and jumped on a big balloon trampoline. All in all it was a great day down on the farm.
