The Helmet

Hmmm . . . anything look different from Braden's 5 month photo shoot? I will give you a little hint - it is on his head. Ok, I will just tell you. He has a new hat! Do you see it now?

Braden has plagiocephaly (a nice big word for a flat head) and a touch of torticollis (a nice big word for tightness in the neck causing him to always turn to one side). After much thought and prayer, we decided to go with the helmet which will help round out his little noggin. He has to wear it 23 hours a day and hopefully only 6 - 9 weeks. The faster his head grows the quicker he gets it off! As much as I want him to stay a baby, we are praying for a big growth spurt. We are now on week 3 and have already seen much improvement! He adjusted to wearing it a lot better than I expected after struggling through the first night.

We all think he is cuter than ever!

5 Months

- New nickname: Rolly Polly. At first he did not like it, but he loves to roll around now. He can roll from his back to his tummy and back again. The first time he rolled over in his crib, he was mad! Of course I had to take a quick picture before rescuing him.

- Now that he can roll over, he loves sleeping on his tummy or side. However, he often gets his arm or foot stuck in his crib.
- Along with his oatmeal he is now eating butternut squash and LOVES it. He will even help you shovel it in his mouth if you aren't fast enough for him.

- I'm not sure who loves each other more . . . Braden or Jackson.

- Now that he stays awake a little bit longer in between naps, he enjoys all his toys even more. Just like his brother he loves to bounce in his exersaucer.

- Here's my happy face . . .

- And here's my sad face.

It's hard to pick which one is cuter, isn't it?
