Easter Celebration

Is it just me or on Easter day it is either raining, cold or both? It doesn't matter if the day before is beautiful and sunny, Easter never has the best weather. Anyway, this Easter was no exception. It was very sunny but also very chilly!

Jackson's Sunday school class sends them home with a bible story each week that we read every night before we go to bed. This week's lesson was of course about the Easter story. In one of the pictures it shows the risen Jesus. Jackson kept looking at that picture and finally said, "Look, Jesus had bo-bos on his hands. Poor Jesus!" Doesn't that pretty much wrap up the story of the cross!!

My mom was in town this Easter, so I recruited her to help me teach Sunday school. We then headed to Bertucci's for pizza - not very Eastery but still yummy!! After we got home, Jackson napped, Mark watched the Masters, and mom and I worked in the yard getting it ready for Spring if it ever comes - what is wrong with this picture?

The Johnson family Easter picture - Seriously how many chins do I have in this picture??

Jackson was invited to several Easter egg hunts along with the one in our backyard. He become a egg hunting pro by the end of the week. He was so proud of himself when he found a "tricky" egg that was hidden in a tree or the fence. Once he collected all his eggs, he wanted to sit and open each one to see his new treasures.

This is my mom's bible study group. Look at all those eggs and kids!

Yes, that is a golf ball Easter basket.

We were a little late dying the Easter eggs, but we got them done. Of course Jackson picked out the Cars dying kit, so our eggs had Mater and Lightening stickers all over them. He was very careful with each egg, and only broke one - not bad for a boy! He wanted to carry them with him everywhere. For the rest of the day there was an egg in each hand.

The end result:

I hope y'all had a great Easter also!!

seriously, it's about time you updated this thing! Love the family photo and your eggs are so brilliantly colored! Good job! Next year Caden can join Jackson in the hunt!

I still can't believe that I got to spend Easter with you all. Even cold, I had a great time especially watching Jackson hunt and color eggs. Yes, Jackson's observation of "Jesus and His bo-bo" certainly is the true meaning of Easter. Give him hugs and kisses, DeeDee

I completely agree about Easter weather! We're always covering the girls' cute new dresses and pretty hair with coats and hats... oh well... You guys all look great! I'm a little jealous of all your egg hunts. Maybe we can come visit next year! :) Love y'all!
