Ugly Ornament Party

Last week my friend Jordan hosted an Ugly Ornament Party. I had never been to this type of party before, but it was way too much fun. Who knew there were so many ugly ornaments out there?!?! I also learned that "ugly is in the eye of the beholder." One of the ugly ornaments someone had brought, I had actually bought to go on Jackson's tree. However, the ornament I bought was silver not red - that means it is a little classier, right?

Let me share how the party works so you can maybe host one next year. You need to bring a beautifully wrapped ornament that you think is ugly. Everyone then draws a number to set the order. The rest goes a lot like Dirty Santa. You can either choose an unwrapped ornament or steal from someone else. However, the point of the game is to get the ugliest ornament. Once everyone has an ornament, you vote which one is ugliest and that person wins a prize. You also have to vow to display your new ornament proudly on your tree. Every time you look at your ugly ornament it can be a reminder of how ugly we all are on the inside, but God sent us the most beautiful gift through his Son Jesus. My pink skiing hippo ornament is hanging on my tree, and it has caused me several times to slow down and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.

I just stared at this picture for about 5 minutes thinking about how much I miss you girls and now I have tears in my eyes.

You ladies are the best. I'm so glad y'all had fun and once again, I'm reminded that y'all are not right around the corner anymore. :(
