Shoes and Trains

Last week Jackson decided that he wanted to put on his shoes all by himself. So he went to his closet, pulled out his shoes, and went to work. He did very good undoing the velcro but had a little trouble getting the shoes to stay on his feet. He was so proud of himself. He wobbled out of the room saying, "I did it, I did it momma!!" He continues to amaze me with his new found independence. I am so proud of my little man, but at the same time it makes me sad that he is growing up so fast.

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History has been closed the past couple of years for renovations and has just reopened. We decided to take Jackson there last Sunday to check out the new transportation collection. All I can say is that he fell in love with all the trains, cars, and buses. Thank goodness that we went an hour before closing. The guard had to kick us out, or we would never have been able to leave peacefully! We didn't even get to see any of the other exhibits or collections. I guess we will be going putting it on rotation with the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. Such a boy - trains, cars, and air planes!

Jackson kept coming back to this exact spot. He loved looking at this train.

Do you see the look of admiration on his face?

Oh my, he is sure growing up on us, isn't he? I can't believe how tall he is getting. Yes, he does like his planes, cars, buses, and trains. Give him hugs for us. Love, DeeDee and PaPa
