Easter

We had a great Easter this year. We were able to mix in some new traditions right along with the old ones. It also seems that we celebrated Easter all month long.

Our church hosts an annual event called "The Rock That Rolled" for preschool and elementary aged kiddos. This was our first year to go, and it did not disappoint. There are different stations set up all over the church, as well as an Easter egg hunt and a age appropriate gospel presentation with live music!

We stopped by the live performance first. Jackson sang and danced with his favorite yellow bird and green bird that he sees every Sunday at church. Well, okay, he just watched, but I sure did sing and dance!

After hitting up all the game stations, it was time to make our Resurrection Eggs. Using the twelve different Resurrection Eggs you can retell the Easter story. Inside each egg is a small token to represent a part of the story. Jackson loved this! By the end of the week he could retell the entire story of Jesus' death on the cross and how He beat death on the third day when He rose from the grave! Nothing sweeter than to see your son get so excited about that empty egg that represents the empty tomb.

The week before Easter was Jackson's Spring Break, so we headed down to Mississippi. Jackson was able to dye Easter eggs with his cousins, Olivia and Ainslee.

And of course little Braden helped dye eggs also . . . in his own special way.

We also had an indoor (due to the muddy conditions) Easter egg hunt with his other cousin, Zoe.

After searching for all those eggs, it was time to see what was inside!

It was then back home to celebrate Easter at our own church. The Easter bunny even came and left behind a little something for each of the boys. They both looked just thrilled don't they?

After church we attended the 2nd Annual Glendale Easter Celebration at the Carlson's house. It was a beautiful day to sit outside, catch up with the neighbors, and celebrate the empty tomb!

Easter was so much fun. I don't think you could have crammed anymore into the celebration. I love the carton of eggs and the empty egg meaning. The pictures all made me smile and realize how fortunate we are to have JESUS and family. Love you all, PaPa and DeeDee
