Braden's Room

Finally Braden's room is complete - well almost. I still want to find a cross to hang on the wall, a small piggy bank to start collecting change, and a cute frame for a picture of the Johnson boys. Since all of Jackson's nursery furniture was too big for this itsy bitsy room, we started from scratch - new crib, new rocker, new bedding. And since we knew we were having a boy, we went with the traditional baby blue and brown. I loved how it turned out, so let the tour begin!

This is basically the entire room. Pretty small, huh?

I love the mix of the baby blue stripes with the exaggerated brown houndstooth. Above his bed is a vinyl monogram that I think turned out super cute!

Since the room is so tiny and I didn't want to just cram furniture in it, we opted for just a crib, rocker, and a small set of drawers. We skipped out on the changing table, and I haven't regretted it once. We ended up ordering all the furniture from Wal-Mart at a very good price. I have to admit that the rocker is super comfy! I just love a good bargain! My mom and I made the pillows, and we also added the strip of fabric to Jackson's old curtains.

Of course, the room wouldn't be complete without a little touch of Mississippi. I absolutely love Walter Anderson prints, so I thought the 2x2 animals would be the perfect finishing touch! Thanks to Mrs. Nancy for painting them and my mom for framing them.

I hope Braden likes his room as much as I do. We certainly spend a lot of time in there together. . . . well at least during the middle of the night.
