Annual Kite Festival

The kite festival is one of our favorite festivals in DC.  We like it so much that we decided to go twice this year.  Actually, I messed up the dates and we went downtown on the wrong Saturday.  However, it was good practice for the real kite festival the following Saturday.

Mark was playing golf for the dress rehearsal kite festival, and I wanted to prove to him that I could actually fly a kite by myself!! Look how high it is!

But it did make me nervous flying a kite and trying to keep up with these two monkeys.  So we put the kite away, had a snack, and played soccer. 

The next Saturday the weather was so much warmer and much more crowded!  It was a little harder getting the kite up, but the boys persevered and came out on top.   

We also took a little break to ride the scooters.  Safety first!

Another successful kite festival!  Next year, I will double check the dates!
