We joined our church's first annual "Wake and Rake" last Saturday. Mark and I both want to make serving others a priority in our family, so we thought this would be a great thing for us to do. Jackson loves to help out around the house, and he especially loves using his rake. So we bundled up, loaded up all of our tools, and headed out. Some of the guys from Mark's small group joined us, so we had about a 5 adults, 2 kids, and 1 pregnant woman.

Jackson has a blast, and after three hours he still didn't want to leave. We were all exhausted by the time we made it home, but it was well worth it to help out someone who needed a little extra help with all the leaves.

Now we just have to do the same thing to our yard . . .

Jackson was really working hard. He looked so cute working beside his Daddy. I am sure he enjoyed every minute and learned such a wonderful lesson on helping people. Love, PaPa and DeeDee
Will you come help me with my leaves when I get too old? I have been out raking every day this week. Of course, I am raking the neighbor's leaves which blow into MY yard. We mainly have pine straw, which is easy to rake and useful, too. Oh well. I guess I need to be thankful for the trees, although these do not shade my yard! AND, once these leaves have all fallen, we can actually see the water on the reservoir! That is wonderful that you are teaching Jackson to help others at such an early age. Love, Emmy
