This post (and several to come) are long overdue, but better late than never right??
We were home for just a week from the OBX when we packed up, headed to the airport, and flew down to Destin to vacay with Mark's family. We had a blast, and there was one major difference in our two beach trips: COUSINS!! Olivia (Ya-Ya) and Ainslee kept Jackson entertained on the beach and in the condo!
During our first beach trip, Jackson would not go near the water. After a couple of days in Destin, he LOVED the water!! Now, I will say that the OBX beaches and the Destin beaches are very different. Destin's water is much clearer and the sand is also softer. He also saw a lot of kids playing in the water including the cousins!! So who knows what finally gave him the confidence to splash around in the ocean.
This might have also helped to get him in the water.
Finally he puts his feet in and realizes, "Hey, this is pretty fun after all."
And by the end of the day he is surfing like the big kids!

I think Destin was a hit with Jackson just like it has been with Mark and Will all these years. We hope we have many years to come with him there! We can't wait to see you all tomorrow!
We really liked the Destin pictures. It looked like so much fun. We laughed at Jackson checking it out and working up his courage to test the water. Such a cute little face and so interested in everything. Love you all, DeeDee
