I am Finally Back . . .

The Johnson family headed to Mississippi on Christmas day, and Jackson and I just got back last week. Wow, what a trip! We stayed at the Johnson's for ten days, then Mark headed back home. When he left, Jackson and I went to stay at my parent's house for about a week. There is so much to share, so here is a "quick" recap of what has been going on around here.

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning was soooo much fun. We had never attended our church's Christmas Eve service, so we were excited that we would be here for that. We went to the early children's service, and it was great! We then grabbed a bite to eat and headed down to the National Christmas tree in the burrr cold weather. I think that might just be a new family tradition. Jackson LOVED watching the train go around and around the huge Christmas tree. He also really got into the Santa thing this year, and Santa definitely stopped by bringing all kinds of goodies. All the race cars from the movie Cars and his tricycle were a big hit!!

The aftermath of Christmas morning!

It was great seeing all of our family and friends in Mississippi. Since we were there for so long, we really got to enjoy everyone and not feel rushed. Jackson loved hanging out with his cousins, Olivia and Ainslee. Of course he loved being spoiled by - I mean spending time with - his Dee Dee, Papa, Emmy, and Poppy. It was also funny hanging out with the newlyweds, my brother and his wife Becca. Jackson and I even had a play date with all the "girls." I still can't believe Dana, Ashley, and Kasey each have a girl - and Dana and Kasey are on the second round of girls!!! Jackson is one lucky little guy!!

By the end of the second week, Jackson began asking for Daddy and new house. When the plane was finally ready (Jackson kept asking when the plane would be ready to take us to new house) we came home to a busy week. From preschool open houses to planning a shower to preparing for our last taping of House Hunters, we had to hit the ground running. Now with all that past, hopefully things will slow down at least for a little while anyway.

I am sorry that I didn't get to wish everyone a timely Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, but may God bless you and your family this upcoming year!

What wonderful Christmas traditions and memories. We really enjoy the pictures as well as the commentary. Maybe we spoil Jackson just a little bit. HA!!! Love DeeDee and PaPa
