Braden Turns 2

Braden is now 2!  Let's just hope they aren't terrible!

Now let's just take a moment to discuss the big scratch on his face, so we can acknowledge my big mommy fail and then quickly move on.  The other day I let him out of his car seat while we were waiting in the car to go to CBS.  When I went to open the car door, he apparently was still holding onto the door and fell straight out of the car hitting the hard cold pavement.  It all happened in slow motion yet I still could not get to him fast enough.  I did break his fall with my foot, but he still landed pretty hard.  It scared the poop out of us both!  Huge mommy fail!

Moving on . . .

I feel like it was just yesterday that I went in to be checked, and the doctor walked me over to the delivery wing! Seriously, didn't he just join our family last year?  I need time to slow down!

We had a little family party for him on his actual birthday, and then had a small birthday play-date with a couple of friends the next week. It was all very low key, but so much fun!

Jackson made Braden a birthday sign at school and was so excited to give it to him.  Jackson is now obsessed with making bubble letters.

Braden loved opening all his presents and was so excited about each one.  He unwrapped each one making sure to get all the paper off, took it to daddy to get it out of the package, and then would patiently wait to test it out.  We had to speed this process up or it would have taken all night.

Special Agent Oso and Dutch (the Joker) were the big hits of the night!

After having pizza in Old Town we came back for singing and cupcakes.  He wasn't too excited and didn't eat one, but we sure did!

The next week we had a couple of friends over to play and celebrate again with cupcakes.  Since I knew he wouldn't eat a cupcake, (really?  who doesn't like cupcakes?) I made him some chocolate chip cookies.   Doesn't he look thrilled to be doing all this again!

It took him awhile to blow the candle out, but he eventually did it!

Happy Birthday my sweet boy!  You are a joy to be around (most of the time) and are constantly making all of us laugh with the funny things you say and your amazing dancing.   I can't wait to see what God has in store for you this year!  We love you Boogerboo!

I am glad to see another blog! Poor Baby B. He has his first battle scar. He is still so cute, anyway. Let's just hope he avoids the broken arms!
I am missing my grandboys and can't wait to see them in April! Give them kisses for me while you still can!!
Love,
Emmy
