Happy 7th Jackson

Jackson wanted a baseball party which I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to pull off.   We then decided to head to a Nationals game instead of a big party.  Jackson was beyond thrilled and I was relived that I wouldn't have to organize a baseball party - win/win!

July 22 was a day all about Jackson - as soon as he woke up he opened his presents.

We went to see Monsters Inc, ate dinner at McDonald's and finished the night with a baseball cake.

On Saturday we headed to the ballpark.

Before the game started we of course had to head to the playground for some sliding.

He never had a chance to catch a foul ball, but he was ready if one came our way!

Then it was time for me to introduce my first born to the funnel cake.  He couldn't eat it fast enough, and I think there was small tear in his eye when we ate our last bites.

We had a great day celebrating Jackson! You are such a sweet boy and a great big brudder!  You are always making us laugh and keeping us on our toes.  I love you to the moon and back - I love you more than that - I love you when you wear your baseball hat . . .

White Sandy Beaches

We were lucky to get to spend a week in Destin with all of the Johnson family.  It was a great time relaxing, swimming, boogey boarding, and playing with cousins!

This was our view for a week - it doesn't get much better than that!

We couldn't keep Ainslee and Jackson out of the water and off their boogey boards!

They looked like they were having so much fun that Braden and I had to get in on the action.  And it was a ton of fun.  We couldn't stop laughing.

Braden was a little hesitant to put his feet in the sand, but after a few good races with Daddy and Jackson he was good to go!

Daddy gets bonus points for thinking up that idea!

After he got used to the sand, Braden loved digging in the sand and building sand castles.

We usually go out to eat once to my favorite restaurant, the Marina.  The boys love looking at the boats, and we love eating the food!  Yummo!

Until we meet again Destin!

Best.Museum.Ever

My mom and I decided to take a day trip to Baltimore to visit Port Discovery's Children Museum.  I had always heard great things about the museum, and we were all excited about the day.  Well, it did not disappoint.  The boys had an absolute blast.

The huge indoor tree house, Kidworks, was worth every penny of the admission price.  I had to pull Jackson out of the three story climbing structure.

While Jackson was climbing, Braden was playing in the toddler area having the time of his life also.

Next up was a little jam session on the drums.  We actually had to come back here because Braden didn't get all his drumming out!

Off to the soccer field to run off some more energy.

After all that hard work playing it was time to sit down for a little snack.  Braden worked the kitchen and Jackson waited on the tables. It was the perfect combo!

We ended the day in the water room.  Jackson enclosed himself in a bubble. He had to work hard to make it all the way to the top without it popping!

Surf's up dude! Of course now he wants to learn to surf just like his daddy.

I think we are all fans of Port Discovery!

Krisy Kreme Chefs

The boys ask every single Saturday for donuts.  This time we decided to start the day off right!  We love watching the donut making assembly line.

I wish every Saturday could be donut day . . .

School's Out for Summer

I can't believe kindergarten is over, and I officially have a first grader.

Their last day of school was Water Day!  They spent their time playing in sprinklers, cleaning and washing all the toys in their room, and having a class picnic.

Kindergarten has been a great year for Jackson.  He has learned so much and has made some great friends along the way!

One last class prayer before heading out for summer!

We are so thankful Mrs. McCoy and Mrs. Olson and the Godly impact they had on Jackson's life.

A New Freedom

Jackson finally decided it was time to kick the training wheels to the curb.  Mark started him off in the grass.

That was quickly mastered and he was gaining confidence, so . . .

they headed to the sidewalk.

He did it! After several times around, and Mark out of breath from chasing him, we now have a bike riding son!  Several days later he mastered the stopping and starting.

So proud of all your hard work!

Mother's Day Tea

Jackson's kindergarten's class hosted a Mother's Day tea.  It was one of the best mornings!  Jackson had written a book and also made me a pot of flowers.  He stood right next to me, making sure that I was well take care of.  Then the whole class sang several of the songs that had learned through out the year.  It just made my heart happy!

I am so lucky that God chose me to be his mother.  Love this boy - to the moon and back!
